The Story Behind 272 BBQ
272 BBQ was built on smoke, grit, and doing things the right way. No shortcuts. No pre-cooked meats. No gimmicks. Just real wood, long cooks, and BBQ that tastes like it took all day — because it did.
Chef and Pit Boss Travis started small, cooking out of a garage and an old converted pull-behind RV parked behind the Akron State Farm office. Word spread fast. People kept coming back — and telling their friends.
That momentum convinced a few close friends to jump in, and in less than a year, we went from a makeshift setup in a parking lot to securing our first brick-and-mortar location.
What started as a one-man hustle has grown into Ephrata’s favorite BBQ stop. Now located at 1121 Steinmetz Rd, we’re still serving the same honest, low-and-slow BBQ that built our name from day one — brisket, ribs, melts, sausage, our signature cowboy beans and sides that actually fill a plate and your palate.
We believe in big portions, real flavor, and treating every customer like they’re part of the 272 family. Whether you’re grabbing lunch, taking dinner home, or ordering catering for a crowd, our goal is simple: Feed you well. Keep it real. Make it memorable.
